The Edge

"so you just want to take the edge off; one beer, one joint, one teeny weeny Prozac". I think the authors point of view for "The Edge is Where I Want to Be" is that she wants people to live on the edge. In the quote above the author is writing about how people are taking the edge off there life and drink and take drugs while there life is depressing. She doesn't want people to live a boring dull life, "and what's life without an edge? guess what, it's DULL". She doesn't want everyone taking off the edge because then all you'll have is the middle. While in the middle nobody has individuality, "and eat and act and dress and think alike and see the same movies so they can have the same conversations and then dream the same dreams if they dream at all", and everyone will be the same safe and predictable person as everyone else . When your on the edge you never know what people are going to say or do or act. Everyone is different and has a different mind, nobody thinks alike. There are know disguises and the game's not rigged so get out of your comfort zone and deal with it! "and for all you're worth run don't walk to the edge".

Animal Cruelty

SMACK!
Wonder what I did now,
I’m just lying in the corner of the room like I do everyday,
I’m not bothering you,
Half the time you forget that I’m here,
SMACK!
What did I do that time?
Is my breathing bothering you?
Am I taking to much space?
Was I cute when you first saw me but now that you have me you hate me?
SMACK!
How can you do this when I can’t even fight back?
You should have trained me to be obedient,
SMACK!
I’m so skinny my ribs can be used as xylophones,
I haven’t had food in days,
SMACK!
I can’t move,
But I can feel,
SMACK!
Pain, Sleep, Pain
I would have loved to be ignored left alone in the dark,
Because they are the lucky ones,
Without a mark on there head,
Non Corrupted,
SMACK!
What family would want me now?
SMACK!
So now it’s the end and I’m ready to go to sleep,
While death is singing its lullaby to me,
The sweetest song I’ve ever heard,
Sung by the angles,
That came to take me away,
To a happier place,
Away from there,

Were peace is all I have.

My Favorite Poem So Far

My favorite poem so far is I Wanna Hear A Poem by: Steve Colman. I like that poem the most because most of the things he says in his poem are true. People do write poems for resons because there sad or depressed like "I'm alone" poems. They also write peoms because there in love or they hate someone. I thought is one line from the poem was funny "But they're are just Robbin Hoods". That line was funny because he doesnt mean the character Robbin Hood but they mean that people who do rob hoods. When I first read this line I got confused but when I reread it I thought it was funny. This poem is funny when we heard it on the computer. That is why I like this poem.
